An extremely dark past is built around the fact that Yannick Val Gesto does not have a dark past at all.
Maybe the time where he was hanging out with his dad and his friend sitting on cardboard boxes looking at Jet Li movies was a dark moment of his past?
Maybe there is a dark past that he keeps for himself?
The future might be a reenactment of what you have seen from us before and might be rendered out in a color.
Recreating Yannick's world into a clean, framed version can be seen as an attempt at describing his future.
It can also be a copy that is rendered from another perspective. It can also be the original or the original rendered from another perspective.
